This is TReNBI FC, an exclusively TNBI+ (Trans, non-binary and intersex) football community in Brighton and Hove. TReNBI is a safe space amongst the hostile landscape that is being created by policy makers in sport. This includes the FA’s ban of trans women from the women’s league and a requirement of trans men to declare their biological sex in order to play. Such policies have made football an entirely unwelcoming space for TNBI+ folks. On the 21st of March 2027, TReNBI brought together teams to participate in their Football vs Transphobia tournament, raising awareness of the transphobia that follows football. This tournament and these portraits act as a reminder to policy makers that trans, non-binary and intersex people exist, belong and will not stop playing.
